OVERVIEW

Accessing Art is a 3-episode docuseries that spotlights the work and creative processes of NYC-based disabled artists—dancer Kayla Hamilton, filmmaker Jordan Lord, and textile artist Echo Eraso—in collaboration with queer designer Camille Lo Bianco.

More than just a documentary, Accessing Art seeks to redefine accessibility in media, shifting it from a post-production afterthought to an integral part of the creative process. Working closely with each artist, we developed custom audio descriptions and open creative captions that not only provided accessibility but also aligned with and enhanced their unique artistic practices.

Each artist played a central and active role in shaping the production, offering distinct approaches to reimagining accessibility as a creative, expressive medium rather than just a functional necessity. Through this collaborative process, Accessing Art challenges traditional frameworks and celebrates inclusive, artist-driven storytelling.
