OVERVIEW

Awaken is an experimental short film that harnesses the power of motion capture and 3D animation to explore the eerie tension between movement and digital presence. Delving into themes of the uncanny and artificial embodiment, the film crafts a surreal, almost unsettling experience that blurs the boundaries between the real and the virtual.

Inspired by the aesthetic and narrative techniques of The Animatrix (2003), Awaken merges cinematic precision with glitch-infused distortions, creating a visually arresting and psychologically disorienting atmosphere. The interplay of fluid motion and fractured frames heightens the sense of unease, evoking the discomfort of digital consciousness and artificial life.

Produced by Keighton, in collaboration with Joshua Davison, Coby Sanchez, Joy Juyeon Kim, and Ardak Mukanova.
